Parkway Mfg. Co. Inc. 707 Industry Drive Hampton, Va. 23661 General Purpose Steel Yard Handyman (Job 4) Starting Pay: $8.00/hr. Review & possible increase after 60 days. Review on each anniversary date. Paychecks weekly. Normal hours: Mon. - Fri, 0700 - 1600 w/1hr Lunch. Overtime: Some required on weekdays & weekends. Paid after 40h Holidays: Seven per year. Vacation: 40h after 1yr, 80hr after 2yr, 120h after 5yr. Sick Leave: 40h each Jan 1st. prorated from end of probation date during 1st year of service. Sick Leave is available after 60-day probation. Medical Insurance: Currently Optima, Available for family, company pays for employee only up to $50.00/month & increasing with seniority. Insurance is available after 60-day probation. Requirements: The general purpose handyman job applicant must be able to operate trucks ranging from small pickups to 20ft flat bed trucks. The prospective job candidates must be able to load and un-load the trucks by hand and forklift. Parkway Manufacturing Company will furnish on-the-job forklift operator and safety training. The steel yard handyman will have primary duties consisting of cleaning and painting, cleaning vehicles, sweeping floors, grounds maintenance and light shop repairs. The job applicant will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the shop grounds. The successful job candidates will be responsible for unloading delivery trucks then putting the received good in proper locations. The job applicant must have a valid Virginia Driver’s license with positive points. Successful job application candidates must have reliable transportation to and from work. To be Employed, must be able to lift 100 lb. Job candidate must be capable of working with minimal supervision. Employee must furnish work clothes & safety shoes. Rental uniforms available after probation period. The successful candidate must be able to speak and understand English. Applicants will be required to take a drug/alcohol test prior to employment.

Parkway Manufacturing and Machine Shop, Hampton VA is a local steel fabricator located in Hampton Virginia. For those not in the area, this means that we serve the Tidewater or Hampton Roads area. The local cities served are Suffolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Williamsburg and Hampton. We also serve Isle of Wight, Southampton, James City and York counties. All of the above plus part of North Eastern North Carolina are located in our local delivery area. We have customers throughout South East Virginia (VA) or North East North Carolina beaches areas (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Newport News, Hampton Roads, Yorktown, Glouchester, Williamsburg, Hickory, and the beaches and outer banks of North Carolina (NC).
