The general purpose handyman job applicant must be able to operate trucks ranging from small pickups to 20ft flat bed trucks. The prospective job candidates must be able to load and un-load the trucks by hand and forklift. Parkway Manufacturing Company will furnish on-the-job forklift operator and safety training.
The steel yard handyman will have primary duties consisting of cleaning and painting, cleaning vehicles, sweeping floors, grounds maintenance and light shop repairs. The job applicant will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the shop grounds. The successful job candidates will be responsible for unloading delivery trucks then putting the received good in proper locations.
The job applicant must have a valid Virginia Driver’s license with positive points. Successful job application candidates must have reliable transportation to and from work. To be Employed, must be able to lift 100 lb. Job candidate must be capable of working with minimal supervision. Employee must furnish work clothes & safety shoes. Parkway Manufacturing and Machine Shop, Hampton VA is a local machine shop and steel fabricator located in Hampton Virginia. For those not in the area, this means that we serve the Tidewater or Hampton Roads area (also known as "Southside" and "Peninsula"). The local cities served are Suffolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Williamsburg and Hampton VA. We also serve Isle of Wight, Southampton, James City and York counties. All of the above plus part of North Eastern North Carolina are located in our local delivery area. Parkway Mfg. is located at 707 Industry Drive in Hampton, Virginia. Parkway Manufacturing and Precision Machine Shop is in the Copeland Industrial Park and close to Interstate 664.
From Portsmouth, Chesapeake, take I-264 or I-64 get on I-664 North toward Newport News and Hampton VA. Cross the Monitor Merrimac Bridge. Get off at the Aberdeen Road Exit and make a left at the bottom of the ramp. Take Aberdeen Road to 60th Street and turn right. The next left is Industry Drive. Parkway Manufacturing and Precision Machine Shop is on the left before the Ryder Truck rental.
From Downtown Suffolk, take US 58 to I664 North to Newport News and Hampton VA, then follow the Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach instructions to Parkway Manufacturing and Precision Machine Shop in Hampton VA.
From Norfolk or Virginia Beach either take the Interstates to I664 and follow the above directions or take I64 West thru the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel and then I664 South, toward Newport News and Hampton VA. Get off I-664 at Aberdeen Road and take a Right at the bottom of the ramp. Take Aberdeen to 60th street and turn Right. Industry Drive is the next Left and Parkway Manufacturing and Precision Machine Shop is on the left before the Ryder Truck Rental.
From Richmond, Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, or Yorktown, take I264 East to Newport News and Hampton VA to I-664 South, then follow the directions from Norfolk.
